Can u give me the positives and negatives of Radio Controlled/ Remote Controlled helicopters?
Please help me out!!!!! I have to complete an assignment today and return it tomorrow.
Every piece of technology comes with a lot of positives and negatives. I need help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Positives:
Fun
Train your fingers on fine movements
Learn about RC Helicopters and Helicopter physics in general
Negative:
Not easy to control - take quite some practice.
Helicopter blades can be sharp and dangerous to little kids and furniture
Short flying time.
Good luck with the assignment.

PS: I prefer RC Sailboat (obviously;) as they are easier and sail much longer

Positives:
Fun to use
People will look at your heli and find who’s controlling it and PRESTO! they see you! then you’re famous. (depends to people)
Negatives:
Short life (depends on the heli)
Needs lot’s of batteries
Long charging time
When you’re outdoors, it can hang on a tree
Hard to control ( if you’re a begginer )
If you’re outdoors and ther’es a sudden rain (well I expirienced that)

Hi.
I started flying helis about two years ago and I now have six from the tiny picoZ to a 30 size Hawk Pro (rotor approx 800mm).
They come in two types:
two contra rotating pairs of main blades which are generally quite stable to control (interfere).
one pair of rotating main blades which are much less stable and are a lot harder to control.
In order to fly them it helps a lot if you can take the time to read up on how they work as there are several different arrangments to control both the main rotor head and the tail rotor. In order to make them stable enough to fly they all have a giro which controls their tail rotor to keep it pointing in a fixed position until it is piloted someway else.
Some helis are only capable of "the right way up" flite and other helis are full 3D aerobatic : loops rolls tick tock etc.
PRO’s : they are totally addictive and fascinating.
CON’s : they break easily and are difficult and costly to mend and set up again. (how do I know that??!!)
I suggest you go and find your local model shop and also have a look on the internet. Get / find Model World, Quiet & Electric Flight, RCM&E from WH Smiths etc. There are also dedicated helicopter mags. Look at Wikipedia for helicopter also autogiro.
Look on UTube for heli items ; VERY GOOD.
Have fun!

There are hundreds of others : look for the links.
They can be expensive, and if you crash it you have a bunch of expensive pieces,I suggest starting out with an inexpensive trainer.
