GAS NIGHT FLYING RC Helicopters and Roun Tuits with Dave.

Night Flying has come a long way. Back then there were no colored, High intensity LEDs or Light Ropes like we have now. We used Chemical lights and 5 VDC incandescent lights. It was fun then and I still fly today in the dark with my electric Cox Christen Eagle. It is lots of fun and the weather is generally better at night than by day.
Thanks for watching this bit of history.
I wrote all the Night flying articles when we pioneer this sport that was unheard of then, but common now.

Thanks very kindly. I used tiny Cyalume Chemical light tubes pushed into holes I drilled in the rotor blades. The tail rotor were even tinier chem lights simply taped to the tips with scotch tape. They were the size of pencil lead and never came off.

That is a great machine. It should ship to Canada within a few days, I guess. UPS can do overnight too, but it is expensive. That is not a bad price for your Canada shop. Do they have spare blades, etc?

    Yeah, you can use …
Yeah, you can use the lower voltage High intensity LEDs, but you will have to add a resistor to lower the voltage. Or, if you can find 6V high intensity LeDs on the internet that may be the ticket. My wing tips are always bulbs or Cyalume Chemical lights.
